Original caption: Brian Epstein, manager of the Beatles, arrives here in New York to try to quell the furor aroused in the United States by Beatle John Lennon’s statement that the singing group was “more popular than Jesus.” The Beatles are scheduled to begin a four week tour of the United States on August 11th. Epstein said Lennon had been misinterpreted.
